Description

This Green Skills Bootcamp is a FREE 4-week part-time course that enables learners to gain entry level roles as a Grounds Maintenance Operative. Funded through the Mayor of London’s Skills Bootcamp for Londoners programme, the training includes two weeks of classroom theory learning, one week of hands-on work experience with a local employer and one week of employability training to help get you job ready.  

The 4-week course will run Monday to Friday, 10am-2pm between Monday 24th February 2025 to Friday 21st March 2025. You should also make yourself available for in-person interviews on 24th & 25th March 2025.

Attendees that successfully complete the Bootcamp course will be offered a guaranteed interview with employers who are looking to hire new talent. 

Duties

· Working full time – highly desirable. None of our employers can accommodate shorter hours but might be able to accommodate job shares.

· Working outdoors – necessary. This comes with the job, as you’ll be working outside once the course is completed.

Essential criteria


You are eligible for the bootcamp if you are:

  • A Hounslow resident
  • 19 years or over
  • Currently unemployed or in receipt of means-tested benefits

 


 

Desirable criteria

  • Driving licence 
  • Working outdoors
  • Working full time



 

Required qualifications

No qualifications or experience needed to attended this course however as part of the course induction, you will be screened for:

· Numeracy Entry Level 2

· Literacy Entry Level 3

· Basic Digital Skills

What support will you receive?

· Free Travel – you’ll receive a free London travelcard (London Zones 2-6) to travel to and from the classroom and work experience locations.

· Free Childcare – we can cover childcare costs needed during course hours.

· Employment Support – you’ll receive a dedicated employment advisor who will offer you 1:1 support during and after the course to support you into employment.

Location

The course will be delivered at the London Borough of Hounslow’s Meadowbank Adult Education & Community Learning Centre (Community Close, Cranford, TW5 9QX) and at employer’s work sites for work experience week.
