Description

This organisation is keenly aware of its impact on the climate crisis and the need for urgent action to mitigate it. A significant part of this is the impact that our use of fossil fuels at our sites has on our organisation’s carbon emissions. 

The Sustainability Project Support apprentice will support the delivery of the Decarbonisation programme - the largest workstream in the Sustainability Action Plan.  

You’ll work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Decarbonisation and other stakeholders across all sites to support the delivery of large-scale reservicing and renewable energy projects.  

This role provides an exciting and rare opportunity to gain practical project management experience in many areas of sustainability, specifically energy and construction as well as getting to know each of the organisation's sites.

Duties

Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Maintaining project files
  • Setting up and maintaining project plans (Gantt Charts)
  • To produce charts and other documents for project managers to use in project proposals, briefs, presentations, etc
  • To record project changes and instructions  
  • To carry out research for the Senior PM and Sustainability Programme Manager  
  • To gain knowledge and become expert in the use of the Procore, and Microsoft Project software  
  • To manage news and updates to the Sustainability intranet site and Project sites
  • To deal with email, queries, act as a central point of administration for specified projects  

Essential criteria

  • You must be 18 years old or over on 2nd September 2025.  
  • Live in UK (resident in country role is based). 
  • You must not have completed a degree or equivalent level qualification in the UK or elsewhere and not already be in full-time education. 
  • Five GCSEs at grade C (or 4) or above, including English and  mathematics (or equivalent)  
  • A minimum of three A-Levels or Level 3 BTEC in relevant subject
