Description

As a Building Services Engineering Apprentice, you will be part of a busy maintenance service team, aiding the upkeep of all aspects of the M&E (mechanical and electrical) systems, plant and equipment of the palaces.

You will support with rectifying faults, monitoring works, liaising with other internal departments and supporting a range of administrative and technical engineering requirements.

Duties

Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Assisting in the assessment of M&E (mechanical and electrical) failures and faults
  • Supporting the M&E Contracts Manager in sourcing plant and equipment for M&E maintenance work
  • Liaising with contractors and obtaining quotations for repair works
  • Assisting with the provision and monitoring of the PPM programme
  • Assisting in the preparation of building service schedules
  • Categorising and updating M&E drawings and CAD plans
  • Supporting in the formulation of maintenance policy, health & safety and quality assurance
  • Carrying out general maintenance related administrative tasks
  • Familiarising, use and updating data/PPM’s to the maintenance software system

Essential criteria

  • You must be 18 years old or over on 2nd September 2025.  
  • Live in UK (resident in country role is based). 
  • You must not have completed a degree or equivalent level qualification in the UK or elsewhere and not already be in full-time education. 
  • Five GCSEs at grade C (or 4) or above, including English, science/engineering and mathematics (or equivalent)

Desirable criteria

The organisation is looking for someone who is keen to learn and has good attention to details, strong computer skills (use of CAD would be desirable).

You will also need good communication skills and the ability to manage your time and workload.
