The DHEP is a two-year programme for degree holders, leading to a Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice upon completion. On the course you will:
- Be employed as a paid officer from day one, learning and patrolling alongside experienced officers whilst working towards your degree at one of four universities; Brunel University London, the University of West London, Anglia Ruskin University and the University of East London.
- Gain the skills and knowledge needed for policing this unique city, including public protection, safeguarding, crime investigation, community policing, problem solving and officer safety.
- Complete a research project focused on a real practical policing problem. Upon completion, you can continue your professional development and choose where you want your career to go, whether that’s by progressing through the ranks or joining a specialist team. The opportunities are endless.
To join this programme you will need to meet our eligibility criteria, and the following qualification criteria:
- GCSE grade C, or 4 or above, in English and Maths (or equivalent Level 2).If you don’t already hold a Level 2 qualification in Maths we’ll support you to achieve this.
