Our Domestic Energy Assessor Training Course can provide you with the skills you need to get a head start in this growing job role.
You will be helping to make people’s homes more energy-efficient, reducing their carbon footprint and cutting their costs.
What is a Domestic Energy Assessor ?
A Domestic Energy Assessor works out home energy efficient our homes are. Every house or flat needs an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) when it is sold or rented. This is to make sure that It complies with government regulations. Energy assessments are also necessary for homes that are undergoing retro-fit work. This means having insulation, solar panels, heat pumps and energy-saving light bulbs installed.

Awarding Body: ABBE (Awarding Body of the Built Enviornment)
- What is the Domestic Energy Assessor Course? During this five-day learning experience you will receive three days of classroom based learning with an experienced and fully-qualified tutor. This will be followed by two days practical on-the-job training that will see you going out and assessing homes in the borough.
- Funding will be provided by Skills Escalator provided the candidates meet all of the below eligibility criteria -
1. Applicants must be a resident of Hounslow Aged 18+
2. In work or recently made unemployed (not longer than 18 months)
3. In receipt of a means tested benefit such as Housing Benefit, Universal Credit or Working Tax Credit
4. The applicant must also want to upskill or reskill.
- All candidates will also undergo a basic DBS check conducted and paid for by Skills Escalator
- Each course will be limited to small groups of between eight and 10 people. Learners will be Hounslow residents who are looking to further their career as a Domestic Energy Assessor. At the end of the course, you will receive an accredited qualification that will help you to take the next step in your career development.
- After the successful completion of the DEA Training, the Skills Escalator advisors will follow up on the candidates with an information advise and guidance session. This would include support with their CV’s, interview skills and job search for those candidates looking to be employed and those that want to be self-employed, there will be information available on how to register and promote their business strategically.
