About the course

The purpose of this course is to help you understand what network security is and become familiar with how to protect IT systems, networks and their users from cybercrime. We will teach you how to recognise common forms of cybercrime such as phishing, ransomware, crypto jacking and social engineering and the effects they have on individuals and organisations. You will research protection methods against cyber-attacks and understand the importance of testing IT systems to find security vulnerabilities that could be exploited by cybercriminals. Finally, you will have an opportunity to get practical experience creating a user access control system with a cloud-based application to create, modify and control groups of users. At the end of the course, you will have created a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed to obtain the qualification.
